CCLEX Bridge: Your Complete Driving Guide
The Cebu-Cordova Link Expressway (CCLEX) is the longest sea-crossing bridge in the Philippines, connecting mainland Cebu to Mactan Island in just minutes. Here's everything you need to know before driving across.
Quick Facts
- Length: 8.9 kilometers
- Opened: April 2022
- Connects: Cebu City (South Road Properties) to Cordova, Mactan
- Travel time: ~8 minutes end-to-end
Toll Rates
CCLEX uses automated toll collection. Rates vary by vehicle class:
- Class 1 (Cars, Vans, Pickups): ~₱90–₱110
- Class 2 (Small trucks): ~₱180–₱220
- Class 3 (Large trucks): ~₱270–₱330
Make sure you have cash or a valid RFID card ready at the toll plazas.
How to Access CCLEX
From Cebu City, head to the South Road Properties (SRP). The entrance to CCLEX is well-signposted. From Mactan, look for the Cordova exit on Mactan Circumferential Road.
Driving Tips
- Stick to the speed limit (60–80 km/h). It's well-enforced with speed cameras.
- Keep right unless overtaking — the left lane is for faster traffic.
- Don't stop for photos — stopping on the bridge is strictly prohibited and dangerous.
- Plan ahead for bad weather — strong winds and heavy rain can affect visibility.
Why It's Worth the Drive
Besides saving time versus the older bridges, CCLEX offers spectacular views of Cebu's coastline and Mactan Channel. It's an experience in itself — just remember to enjoy it safely.
Combining with Nearby Destinations
After crossing CCLEX, you're perfectly positioned to explore:
- Mactan resorts for beach relaxation
- 10,000 Roses Cafe in Cordova for photos
- Lapu-Lapu Shrine for a bit of history
