What This Policy Covers

Booking a vehicle on this website charges a reservation fee of 50% of your quoted total, capped at ₱5,000. That is the only amount taken online. The balance is settled with us in person on the day of your rental.

This policy explains how the vehicle is returned to us, and when and how money is returned to you.

02

Returning the Vehicle

Return the vehicle at the time and place agreed when you booked, with a full fuel tank. We check the vehicle with you at handover.

  • Fuel: vehicles go out full and must come back full. If not, a refuel charge plus a service charge applies.
  • Late return: bring the vehicle back at the agreed time. Extra time is charged at the applicable rate. Tell us as early as you can if you are running behind and we will tell you what it costs.
  • Condition: damage, missing items or unusual cleaning needs found at handover are charged to the renter, as set out in our rental terms.
  • Inter-island travel needs our approval before you go. Taking the vehicle off Cebu island without it is a breach of the rental agreement.

The liability and fuel provisions in our Terms of Service apply in full alongside this policy.

03

If You Cancel or Do Not Show Up

Reservation fees are non-refundable when the customer cancels. The fee is what takes the vehicle off our availability calendar and turns other renters away, so it is not returned if you change your mind.

A no-show is charged the full first day rate. If your plans change, message or call us as early as possible — moving your dates is usually possible, and we would far rather move a booking than lose you.

04

When We Refund You in Full

If the problem is ours, or the charge was wrong, you get all of your money back. Each of these is a full refund, no argument:

  • We cancel your booking.
  • The vehicle you booked is unavailable and you do not want the substitute we offer.
  • We fail to deliver the vehicle at the agreed time and place.
  • You were charged twice for the same booking.
  • The amount charged does not match the amount you were quoted.
  • A charge was made that you did not authorise.

In these cases we refund the entire amount that left your account, including the payment processor’s fee described below. We absorb that fee. You should not be out of pocket for our mistake.

05

The Payment Processor’s Fee

Our checkout adds PayMongo’s processing fee for the method you choose on top of the reservation fee, rather than burying it in the price. The exact amount is shown to you before you confirm, and it varies by method.

That fee is not rental credit, so it never reduces the balance you owe on the day. Where we refund you under the section above, the fee is refunded too. Where a refund is a goodwill exception rather than our error, we tell you in writing exactly what will be returned before we process anything.

06

How to Request a Refund

Email operations@mccr.com, or call or text 0920 955 8805. Messenger works too, but email gives us both a written record. Include:

  • Your payment reference — the code beginning mccr_ on the receipt PayMongo emailed you
  • The name the booking was made under
  • Your rental dates and the vehicle
  • What went wrong

The reference is the fastest route to your payment. With it we can pull up the exact checkout in seconds; without it we may have to ask you for more details first.

07

How Long a Refund Takes

  • We acknowledge your request within one business day.
  • If it is approved, we start the refund within five business days of approving it.
  • The money then moves on your bank or wallet provider’s schedule, which we do not control. Card refunds can take up to 30 days to appear on your statement; e-wallet refunds usually land within 24 hours.

Card and e-wallet refunds are returned to the same card or wallet you paid from. We cannot send a card refund to a wallet, or a wallet refund to a different account.

If you paid by QR Ph, one step is yours. QR Ph refunds are not pushed back automatically — our processor sends you a transfer link, and you must claim it to receive the money. That link is only valid for three days, and if it expires unclaimed the refund fails and has to be started again. Watch for it, and tell us if it does not arrive.

If you paid by UnionBank online banking, we refund you by hand. Our processor cannot reverse a UnionBank payment, so we send the money back ourselves by bank transfer or GCash and ask you for the account to send it to. You get the same amount back; it just takes a message from us first, and a few banking days after you reply.

Refunds can also only be made within the window our processor allows for the method you paid with. The shortest of those windows is 30 days, which is the one to plan around — QR Ph and online banking sit at 30 days, while e-wallets and cards run longer. Raise a refund request as soon as you know you need one.

If we turn a request down, we tell you why in writing, and you can escalate it under our Dispute Resolution Policy.

08

What We Do Not Refund

  • Reservation fees on bookings you cancel, and no-shows.
  • Fuel, refuel service, late return, cleaning and damage charges properly incurred during your rental.
  • Rentals cut short by a breach of the rental agreement — for example an undisclosed driver, or prohibited use.
  • Time lost to circumstances outside our control, such as weather, road closures or ferry cancellations. Talk to us anyway; we will do what we reasonably can.
